There have been several amendments to the 802.11 standard, the most recent being 802.11i. This is a standard defining all aspects of radio frequency wireless networking. The most widely used standard is 802.11 produced by the IEEE. Wireless networking hardware requires the use of technology that deals with radio frequencies as well as data transmission. All of these factors have allowed wireless technology to come of age in the modern company. This is thanks to industry-enforced compatibility standards and the deployment of lightweight wireless networking hardware.
