So, sadly, you will need to darn yourself some sock puppets in order to secure your, inarguably rightful, place as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire in perpetuity. I mean, to maintain cordial relations with enough of the elector states to give you even a chance of their representatives voting for your monarch of their own good consciences. You don’t have enough diplomats (and likely will not have enough money) to bribe the electors. Namely, you will need to vassalize enough elector states to guarantee your monarch is chosen. With your accumulated Infamy (and the steady stream of additional Infamy you are likely to acquire given your stated goal of bringing the light of Christianity to the heretics and heathens) your only real option to persuade the electors to choose your monarch as the Emperor is to rig the elections. (Certainly from a stability-hit perspective.)

Forming Prussia is probably the easiest method of accomplishing this goal. To claim the Emperorship you will need to change your government to some form of monarchy. There are plenty of folks who can provide excellent advice on the TO, but I’ll give a shot at answering your questions. Lately I've mostly been sitting around, building up some wealth, troops and trying to get my infamy to drop. My land is very high though allowing me to field a lot and cheap troops. (i got the new variant of the old Deus Vult and my next idea will be National Bank) My tech is not that good as I'm rather narrowminded and serf orientated. Stability 3, investing only in goverment atm. Ideas? Suggestions? It's 1441 atm in the game. conquer and convert the pagans and then go on a crusade against the Muslims. I presume I'll need to end up Prussia? As I'd like to somehow consolidate my rearguard so I can focus on what I planned to do from the start. how can I best get on a good footing with the HRE and if possible claim the Emperorship. The Hanza and Smolensk (forcefully converted to Christianity) are vazals and Brandenburg is currently an ally. Mazovia and Lithuania are single provinces in my territories. My two last Grand Masters have ended up excommunicated. Poland (one province) and Bohemia (two provinces) have ended up minor powers and Hungary is now a strong nation. However as all too frequently happens I've ended up involved in conflict with my neighbours.

I've attempted to focus on the pagan states and knocked them about quite a bit. I've made way through the heathens and I've tried to uphold an rp'ish edge during play. Well as I do a lot I started playing the Teutonic Knights again.
